Amanda Ray Simpson

Amanda Ray Simpson, 44, of Ashland, peacefully passed away Monday, January 15, 2018 at Kings Daughters Medical Center, following a brief illness. Amanda was born October 8, 1973 in Ashland, a daughter of Linda Kay Crisp Simpson of Ashland and Timothy (Tammy) Simpson of Ashland.

Amanda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul Darrell and Virginia Katherine Moore Simpson and George and Marge Crisp.

Amanda was a lifelong resident of Boyd County and graduated from Boyd County High School. She had a passion for Bariatrics and weigh loss. She worked for many years with Dr. Rex Duff in Ashland and later owned and operated her own store Measure Up in the Applegate’s Shopping Center in Greenup.

In addition to her parents she is also survived by her son Austin Stein of Ashland, daughters Alexis Scott of Tempe, Arizona, Stacey Stein of Ashland, Emily Stein of Lexington, brothers Timothy Scott Simpson of Ashland, Gregory Mays and wife Aleatia, sisters Angela Dawn Simpson Hammond and husband Chris, Ashley Daryl Simpson Gilliam and husband Johnny, Tiffany Fox and husband Ryan,  her grandson Anderson Reece Scott, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service to celebrate Amanda’s life will be held 12:00 Noon Saturday, January 20, 2018, at the First Pentecostal Church, 1110 Bellefonte Road in Flatwoods by Pastor Shane Cox. The family will receive friends from 11:00am till service time at the church.

Flowers will be received at the church at 11:00am Saturday prior to services.
