Carl Edward Pursley

Carl Edward Pursley 74, of Catlettsburg, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at the Community Hospice Care Center.
He was born September 16, 1942, in Akron, Ohio a son of the late Arthur and Mary Ann Gibbs Pursley.
Carl was a member of Catlettsburg Church of God. He loved woodworking, nature and spending time with his family and friends. He was a longtime member of Westwood Volunteer Fire Department and retired after 40 years of service from Fairview Board of Education.
He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Joni Wellman Pursley of Catlettsburg; son, Steven Pursley of Catlettsburg; daughter, Tonya Renfroe and husband, Randy of Westwood; sister, Betty Burcham of Huntington, WV; grandchildren, Jay Renfroe, Heather Renfroe, Michelle Bowling, Andrew Renfroe, Ashley Carrey, Carson Justice; 8 great grandchildren and 1 due in January.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Catlettsburg Church of God with Pastor Howard Wirzfeld officiating.
