E. B. Horn Jr

Ethelbert “E.B.” Horn Jr., 61, of Catlettsburg, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017 at Kings Daughters Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

E.B. was born Jan. 13, 1956, one of eleven children of the late Ethelbert Sr, and Dolly Leadingham Horn. In addition to his parents E.B. was also preceded in death by his brother Terry Horn, a sister-in-law Kay Horn and a brother-in-law Tony Grande.

E.B. was a 1974 graduate of East Carter High School and a member of the Mavity Freewill Baptist Church. E.B. loved camping, fishing, listening to gospel music and most importantly to him spending time with his grandchildren and family.

E.B. worked out of the Laborers Union, Local #1445 in Catlettsburg. He also enjoyed landscaping work and design. E.B. was a fireman with the Big Sandy Fire Department with over 15 years of service to the community.

Survivors include his wife Cathy Hayes Horn of Catlettsburg and her mother Bonnie Hayes of Ashland, sons Matthew Horn and wife Kelli of Ashland, Samuel Horn and wife McKenzie of Ashland, brothers Larry Horn of Whitehouse, TN, Jerry (Sue) Horn of Flatwoods, KY, sisters Pat (Troy) Muncy, of Catlettsburg, Pam (Don) Simpson of South Point, OH, Penny (Don) Blevins of Dayton, OH, Charlene (Sonny) Campbell of Rush, Sandy (Jim) Scruggs, of Gallipolis, TN, Cindy (Phillip) Rucker of Rush, Paula (Mike) Leake of Rush, his adoring grandchildren Audrey Horn, Emerson Horn, Lincoln Horn, Addilyn Horn, sister-in-law Darrella Horn and a host of extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Thursday, March 16, 2017 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel by Gary Selby and Brandon DePriest with burial to follow in the Kirby Flats Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday from 12-2 at the funeral home.
