Edith M. Freeman

Edith M. Freeman, 101, a lifelong resident of South Point, Ohio, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017, at her residence.
She was born August 5, 1916, in South Point, Ohio, a daughter of the late Carl and Shirley Moore McClure. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Freeman; sisters, Mary Ruth McClure and Helen McClure; and brothers, Floyd, Julian and Lee McClure.
Edith was a lifelong member of South Point Baptist Church and was a loving sister and aunt.
Survivors include a brother, Marlin McClure of South Point; nieces, JoAnn Sinclair of Columbus, OH, Karen McClure of Charlotte, NC, and Sandy Clark of Charlotte, NC; sister-in-law, Jean McClure of Charlotte, NC; and a host of loving friends, including the Branham, Thomas and Craft families. The family’s deepest appreciation goes to her devoted caregivers whom allowed Edith to remain in her home, Kim Clayton, Lisa Fradd, Donna Johnson, Geri Roberts and Katie Shoub.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel with Pastor Lou Ashworth officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY 41101, or to a favorite charity.
