Grace Moore

Grace Ball Moore, 96, of Ashland, passed from this life into the land of glory and became a citizen of Heaven on Saturday, March 23, 2024.
Mrs. Moore was born on February 1, 1928, in Louisville, KY, a daughter of the late Elza Blaine and Maxie Mae Clevenger Ball. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Harold G. Moore; a daughter in law, Angela R. Moore; four sisters, Hope H. Moore, Joy B. Bowling, Ruth G. Russell and Nell B. Blembler.
She was a graduate of Ashland High School in 1947. Grace was employed with Commonwealth Life Insurance Company for many years. She retired from Third National Bank after 20 years of service. Grace was a longtime member of First Baptist Church-Ashland. She was involved in Sunday school, various committees and preparation of bank deposits. In recent years Grace and Harold became members of Rose Hill Baptist Church. During the pandemic years and currently, she enjoyed attending church services at Wildwood First Church of God with her son and great grandchildren. Grace was a lifelong member of the Preceptor Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Cindy L. Moore of Grayson, KY, a son, Mark A. Moore, of Ashland, KY, and a son, Michael B. Moore, of Nicholasville, KY, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and a sister, Frances Ball Shumate (Bill) of Ashland, KY.
Grace lived a life of spiritual integrity. She was kind and compassionate to everyone she knew and met.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel with Pastor Bob Hunt officiating. Entombment will be in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
