Although I was not able to spend much time with Ed, the time I was given was a pleasure to be sure. Our thoughts and prayers are with all who mourn his loss. What an amazing man, what a role model to us all.

Ed and Lee Royce were close companions of my parents Dan and Ann Coleman. My father is in the hospital now recovering from a broken hip and cannot attend the funeral of one of his dearest friends. They worked together for decades and served in many of the same community service projects. I know how much respect my father had for Ed and I wanted you to know why he is not be able to pay his respects in person. I personally spent time with Ed and Lee Royce. There were no finer people in the world. I know my dad was honored to be his friend and that my family's grief in his passing is deep. My family's condolences to your family.

Your father sounds like an amazing man, Carol. Surely a blessing to all who knew him. My deepest sympathies to you and your family.

Carol
When we were young I had the occasion of being around your father a few times and I remember there was something different and special about him. After reading the obit I can see there really was and a full life he had. He also had what I thought was a special daughter also.
My condolences Carol.

I have known Mr. Maddox all my life and can honestly say that few people have had more of an influence on me. He was a model of integrity, loyalty to all he held sacred, and devotion to all that he loved. He was not only a pure gentleman, but a gentle man and we are all better for having had him in our lives.

Ed was a wonderful friend to me. His help in our genealogy is priceless.
