Linda Louise Short

Linda Louise Thompson Short, 83, passed away into the arms of her Savior on April 9, 2024. Linda was born to Wayne Denver Cole and Phyllis Mullins Cole on March 27, 1941 in Boyd County, Kentucky. Linda was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother and was a hairdresser for 30 years. She loved listening to Elvis Presley and Christmas was her favorite holiday. Linda married James Ronald Thompson on July 4, 1959 in Westwood, Ky. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1979, they had been married 19 years. 

Also preceding her in death was Howard Lee Short, whom she married later in life and was a grandfather to many of her grandchildren, her parents Wayne and Phyllis Cole, two brothers Floyd Edward and Denver Allen Cole, a sister Drema Gail Robinson, and a granddaughter Victoria Nicole Thompson. 

Surviving her are brother Wayne Darrell and Dorothy Cole, three sisters Sally Marie Cole, Judith Lynn and Denver Nichols, and Ginger Kay Chamberlin, three sons James Gregory and Vickie Thompson, Phil and Susan Thompson, and Scott Andrew Thompson, two daughters Ronda Jane Fosson (Lewis May) and Tanya Renee Thompson and David Fawbush, and grandchildren Jamie, Sarah, James (Ronnie), and Nicholas Thompson, James (Rusty) Thompson and Kayla Fletcher, Melissa Clifton, Renee Brown and Charles (Aaron) Fosson, and Tiffany Akers and Whitney Fisher as well as many great and great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Friday, April 12, 2024, at STEEN FUNERAL HOME, CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL officiated by Chaplain Jimm Smedley. Vistation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1 p.m with burial following at Ashland Cemetery.
