I knew Lovell for more than sixty years. He and my father worked together at Sears in
"furniture and floor covering" on the third floor of the old downtown Ashland store. There were hundreds of times that I walked there after school just to say "hello" and to go up one floor to the employee break room to buy a glass bottle of Coca-Cola for a nickel. Lovell was very pleasant and hard working, but he always had time to say "hello" back to me, and frequently relate some cute story or joke. It was a great pleasure to see him at GattiLand on his 100th birthday. He will be missed.

I never knew Uncle Lovell really well, but I was always amazed at how sharp his mind was even at his advanced age. I was fortunate enough to attend his 100th birthday party at Gattiland, watch him blow out his candles all by himself, have dinner with him, & shake his hand. What a wonderful life he lived!
