Phyllis Cole

Phyllis Mullins Cole, 95, of Ashland, peacefully passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017 at her residence. Phyllis was born December 15, 1921 in Ashland, a daughter of the late Lonnie and Bessie Robinson Mullins. Ih addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Wayne Denver Cole, a son Floyd Edward Cole, daughter Drema Gail Cole, brothers Royce, Paul and Ralph Mullins and sisters Wanda Falcone and Jackie Mullins. Phyllis attended both the Hoods Creek United Baptist Church and the 39th St. Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted homemaker and will be deeply missed. Survivors include her sons Wayne Darrell Cole and wife Dottie of Ashland, Denver Allen Cole of Lexington, KY, daughters Linda Short of Wurtland, KY, Sally Cole of Ashland, KY Judith Nichols and husband Denver of Ashland, KY, Virginia Chamberland and husband Charles of Cedar Rapids, IA, nine grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 20 great-great- grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017 at the Highland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel by Jerry Brewer with burial to follow. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:30am to 12:30pm at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel.
