It is with great sadness that the family of Tara Lynn Daugherty announces her passing after a courageous battle with spina bifida and cancer on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

Tara was born October 6, 1974 in Ashland. She was a 1994 graduate of Killeen High School in Killeen, Texas and attended Central Texas College for Communications and Broadcasting. Tara loved her family, friends, sign language, crafts and was an avid UK Basketball fan.  Tara also volunteered at Kings Daughters Medical Center for many years.

Tara enjoyed reading books, listening to gospel music and watching Joel Osteen every Sunday. Tara lived her life to the fullest and was an inspiration to many. She will be deeply missed.

Tara was preceded in death by her father David Dasher, most loving Nan, Willa Barker, Grandfather Bobby Ray Barker, grandparents Alta and Bud Dasher , uncles Johnny Dasher and Mike Dasher, great-grandparents Giles W. Kitchen, Roberta Ailene Kitchen, Audrey Beckett, Garland Barker, Charles C. and Florine Grizzle.

Tara will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her mom Diana Barker Caudill of Flatwoods, her dad Randy Caudill of Ashland, Aunt Laura Barker Taylor of Chesapeake, VA, uncle Randy (Melissa) Barker of Richmond, KY, Mamaw Joan and Papaw Ed Tharp of Argillite, Mamaw Patricia Barker of Freedom, PA, Uncle David Kevin Barker of North Carolina, Uncle Tony (Sherry) Tharp of Argillite, Aunt Robin (Chris) Bush, Aunts Patty Short, Karen Turner, Sheila Dasher and truly missed by all of her very close cousins.

A celebration service will be held 3:00pm Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the Steen Funeral Home, Central Avenue Chapel by Chaplain Jimm Smedley. Visitation will be prior to the service from 1-3.

The family would like to personally thank all of the doctors, nurses and medical staff at OLBH for their exceptional care and professionalism while Tara was in their care.
