Teresa Mae Burgess

Teresa Mae Burgess, 52, of Rush, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017 at her residence. Teresa was born October 14, 1964 in Ashland, a daughter of the late James Peter and Ella Clotine Edwards Tomlin. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her sister Connie Sue Tomlin and her step-daughter Kayla Weaver and grandson Dennis Lee Chapman.
Teresa was a lifelong resident of Boyd County. She was a 1983 graduate of Boyd County High School and worked for several business in the area. She was a manager with Dollar General Stores, worked at Boyd Nursing & Rehab, was employed with Billy Bob’s Play land, Community Hospice, Home Health/ Tech Medical of Greenup County, worked security at the VA Medical Center in Huntington and at the Ashland Town Centre Mall and was currently with the Environmental Services at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center in Ashland.
Teresa is survived by her loving husband Jesse Burgess of Rush, son Charlie Picklesimer of Huntington, daughter Kristy (Sarah Ross) of Huntington, step-son Dennis Chapman of Boyd County and Matthew of Greenup County, step-daughters Kelsey Lemaster of Ironton, Amy Burgess of Boyd County, brothers John (Donna) Tomlin of Boyd County, Donald (Jennifer) Tomlin of Boyd County, James (Catherine) Tomlin of Boyd County, sister Lisa (Jerry) Groves of Boyd County and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel by Pastor Mike Moore. Burial will be at Kirby Flats Cemetery in Boyd County. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral Home.
