Verna C. Evans

Verna C. Evans, 74, of Ashland, peacefully passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Crystal Care in Coal Grove, OH. Verna was born July 11, 1943 in Ashland, a daughter of the late Charles William and Verna Evelyn Elkins Queen. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her daughter Verna Bowen. Verna was a lifelong resident of Ashland and a graduate of Ashland High School. She retired from Kings Daughters Medical Center as a courier in the lab department. Most importantly to her was her family, she was a loving mother and grandmother. She was faithful to her Lord and Savior and will be missed by all who knew her. Verna is survived by her children Bruce Evans and wife Mary of Ashland, David Evans of Ashland, grandchildren Kimberly Bowen, Megan Evans, Emily Evans and a host of extended family and friends. A celebration of Verna’s life will be held 1:00pm Friday, Sept. 22, 2017 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel by Timothy Arthur. Burial will follow in the Ashland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00am till 1:00pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
