Effie Jane Brewer

Effie Jane Porter Brewer, 91, of Ashland, Kentucky went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 27, 2016. She was born June 2, 1925 in Ashland, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Francis Marion and Ida Johnson Porter. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Fred Brewer, Jr., seven brothers and three sisters.
Effie was a loving homemaker to her family, a devoted Christian and a great prayer warrior. She attended the Ashland Assembly of God.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah (Don) Hale of South Carolina, son Todd (Debra Mae) Brewer of Ashland, son Daniel (Tina) Brewer of Ohio, daughter Paulette Turner of Ohio, daughter Gayle (Larry) Spradlin of Ashland, brother-in-law Charlie (Sonja) Brewer of Catlettsburg, grandchildren Darla (Nick Pickett), Amber (Daren Whitt), Dustin (Kimberly Hale), Kyle, Amy, Dalton, Danielle, Jace, Jayden and Joy (Jeff James) whom was raised as a daughter. She is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Steen Funeral Home, 13th Street Chapel by Pastor Charles Shields. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00-1:00pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
