Alberta Morris

Alberta Evelyn James Morris, 101, of Russell, Ky. passed away on November 30, 2018 at the Hospice Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Georgetown, Delaware on March 16, 1917 to the late Clarence and Florence Dolby James. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband James W. “Jack” Morris, two brothers and two sisters.

She was a housewife, a member of First United Methodist Church, and did volunteer work for Normal Presbyterian and First United Methodist Churches and was a volunteer at Kings Daughters’ Medical Center with 20 years of service.

Alberta is survived by her son Steven J. Morris and wife GiGi of Ashland; a daughter Laura Morris of Russell, Ky; grandchildren Stephanie Morris and Stacie Morris and great grandchildren Chloe Morris and Jace Morris.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Steen Funeral Home, Central Avenue at 11.00 AM. Services will be officiated by Reverend John Street and burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 PM.
