Anna Mae Hillman

Anna Mae Rogers Hillman, 91, of Ashland, passed away Thursday evening, September 19, 2019 in Ashland. Mrs. Hillman was born November 4, 1927 in Lawrence County, Ohio, a daughter of the late Thomas Dudley and Sarah Ann Stewart Rogers. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years Harold “Hank” Hillman, brothers George Rogers, Vernette Rogers, Clifford Rogers, sisters Lucy Dickerson, Elizabeth Dunaway, Thelma Marie Gettys and a sister-in-law Mary Lou Rogers.
Mrs. Hillman was a longtime member of the Rose Hill Baptist Church in Ashland. She was involved in many capacities of the church including Sunday school teacher. She was also an avid gardener, loved crafting and sewing, involved for many years with the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts of America and a former home room mother at Rose Hill Christian School. She retired with 30 years of service as a workshop leader and coordinator at Pathways working with special needs children.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Thomas Hillman and wife Bernadette of Taylorsville, KY, daughters Judith Ann Hillman of Ashland, Sheila Kay Webb of Ashland, her grandchildren Jesse Kyle Webb, Nicholas (Jessica) Hamm, Mathew (Ashley) Hamm, great grandchildren Dillon, Daphne, Dominic, Liam and Griffin Hamm, several nieces, nephews and good friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, September 23, 2019 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel by Rev. Jack Edwards and Roger McCaleb. Burial will follow in the Vernon Furnace Cemetery in Decatur Township, OH.
Visitation will be Monday from 12 noon till service time at the funeral home.
