Anna Mae McCarty

Anna Mae Harris McCarty, age 80, of Franklin Furnace, Ohio passed away peacefully at Kings Daughters Hospital on April 5, 2024. Ann was born on December 21, 1943 to Howse and Margaret Harris of Rush, Kentucky. She attended Boyd County High School. She worked at Ashland Crafts, Alexanders Restaurant in the Ashland Plaza Hotel, and Walmart.

Ann enjoyed working in her garden and in her yard. However, what she enjoyed most was visiting the mountains, especially Gatlinburg, Tennessee. She travelled there often with her family and her friends. She was a loving sister, mother, and grandmother. Her precious grandchildren were the love of her life.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents Howse and Margaret, her sisters Betty Guarini, Edna "Gee" Vires, Patty Herfurth, Brenda Thomas, and her grandson Dustyn McCarty. She leaves behind her beloved sisters Mildred "Susie" Bowling of Catlettsburg, KY, Fannie "Faye" Click of Westwood, KY, and Lois Davis (George) of Rush, KY, and her brother Billy Ray "Sonny" Harris (Charlotte) of Rush, KY. She also leaves behind her two children, James McCarty (Lori) of Lewisburg, WV and their daughter Keelee McCarty (Brian McIntyre) of Denver, CO, and her daughter Beverly Whitley (Terry) and their children Will and Brianna of Franklin Furnace, OH. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, as well as a multitude of great nieces and great nephews, and many extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at STEEN FUNERAL HOME 13TH STREET CHAPEL with Pastor Billy Ray Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
