Austin D. Jones

Austin Douglas Jones, 35, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022. Austin was born March 4, 1987 in Huntington, WV.
Austin was a 2006 graduate of Paul Blazer High School. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ashland. He obtained his Associates degree in welding from Ashland Community & Technical College. He also was a certified drinking water operator, a job that took him to several locations in West Virginia including Snowshoe, Buchanan and Millwood. He currently worked as an electrician working with a commercial electrical contractor.
Austin is survived by his parents Doug and Toni Jones of Ashland, his sister Dr. Ashley Paige Jones and wife Dr. Hillary Jones of Austin, TX, nephew’s Reece and Luca Jones, aunt’s and uncle’s Joni and Jalal Dadras of Christiansburg, WV, Sarge and Jennifer Vines of Kernersville, NC, Diana and Jim Johnson of Abingdon, VA and a host of extended family and friends.
Austin was an outdoorsman, He loved anything outdoors, fishing, hunting and was a skilled snowboard enthusiast and BMX bike rider. He loved sports and cheering on his Pittsburgh Penguins Hockey Team.
A memorial service is planned for 11:00am Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Heritage Community Park and Natural Area, 2300 Glade Road, Blacksburg, VA 24060.
