Barbara LaVerne Dummitt Brown

Barbara LaVerne Dummitt Brown, 81, of Charlotte, NC formerly of Ashland, died Thursday, August 3, 2017.

She was born January 15, 1936, in Ashland, KY, a daughter of the late Elbert N. and Hester White Dummitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, CPO Billy V. Brown, Retired; and two daughters, Renee Wright; and Vicki Dummitt Carr on January 24, 2017.

Barbara was a member of the Non-Denominational Church and worked for 20 years as an Electronic Equipment Installer for GTE in California.

Survivors include a son, Kelley Ray Wright of Oceanside, CA; daughter, Robin Rae Stout of Charlotte, NC; 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

A service for Barbara and her daughter, Vicki will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with Bill Denk and Robert Bishop officiating. Burial will be Thursday, at Rose Hill Burial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.
