Benjamin Lee Grimm, “Ben”, 41, of Ashland, passed away peacefully on Friday evening, November 17, 2023 in Ashland Ky, with his loving family by his side, along with his special nurse, Brookelynn. Ben was born June 6, 1982 in Ashland, a son of Kelli Jones of Grayson, KY and the late Timothy Grimm. In addition to his parents, his grandparents Robert and Dorothy Grimm, James and Emma Coburn Bobby and Elsie Jones, Howard Fritts and his uncle Mike Grimm also preceded him in death. Ben was in the pilot Mainstreaming Program at Boyd County High School, which helps individuals with the practice of educating students with special needs in regular classes during specific time periods, based on their individual skills. He was a 2003 graduate of Russell High School. Even though Ben had disabilities, that didn’t stop him from making friends everywhere he went. Ben participated with the organization “A Brighter Future” which seeks to provide supports to individuals with disabilities through an eclectic approach that uses creativity and empathy to allow participants the opportunity to reach their full potential and lead fulfilling lives. Many people from ABF gave Ben a brighter life. To know Ben was to love Ben, he made an impact on everyone who had the privilege to have known him.
