Berta VanHoose Hensley

Berta Davis VanHoose Hensley, 87, Versailles, formerly of Cannonsburg, Ky., died peacefully on Sunday, January 9, 2022.

She was born June 30, 1934, in Johnson County, Ky., to the late P.V. and Stella Cantrell Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Mant VanHoose in 1995, and Larry Hensley in 2013.

Berta attended Versailles Baptist Church where she was a member of the Sunday school class. She retired following a long career with Ashland Oil, owned and operated a Day Care business for 20 years; then sold real estate for Ross Realty.

Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Lori VanHoose (Morey) Daniel of Versailles; step son, Nathan (Patty) Hensley of Mt. Sterling; grandson, Mason (DeAnna) Daniel; and step grandsons, Warren (Courtney) Hensley and Stephen Hensley.

A funeral service to honor the life of Berta will be held at STEEN FUNERAL HOME 13TH STREET CHAPEL on Thursday, January 13, 2022 beginning at 1:00 p.m. with words of comfort provided by Chaplain Jimm Smeldey. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
