Bertha Mae Boyd Howard, 93, of Ashland, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Community Hospice.
She was born March 29, 1928, in Boyd County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Ernest and Fannie Miller Boyd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Cecil Howard, Sr.; daughter, Paula Howard Hill; son, Claude Cecil Howard, Jr.; sister, Loretta Nelson; and brothers, Marshall Boyd, Curtis Boyd and Charles Boyd.
Bertha worked for many years at King’s Daughters Medical Center and Elmwood Village.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Pat Baldridge, Lottie (Randy) Wallace, Kenneth (Rhonda) Howard, Tim (Pam) Howard and Ed (Angie) Howard; a granddaughter she raised, Sabrina Stone; a great-granddaughter she raised, Savannah (Chris) Nunley; daughter in law, Rebecca Howard; sister, Ernestine Boyd Berner; 18 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2021 at STEEN FUNERAL HOME CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL with Pastor Trey Parsons officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
