Betty Jean Gibbs

Betty Jean Blankenship Gibbs, 90, of Ashland, KY passed away on January 6, 2020 at the Hospice Care Center. She was born on October 12, 1929 in Ashland, KY to the late George P. and Mattie Meade Blankenship. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Jetta Kinnan in 2008, a brother Pat Blankenship and a sister Billie Sue Ross.

She was a very loving and beautiful person and was very devoted to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved very much. She always had a hug and would tell you she loved you. She never met a stranger. She had a big heart and donated to those in need and less fortunate. She lived life to the fullest and enjoyed her long walks, dancing whenever she heard music and loved to play the piano, but most of all loved to see her loved ones coming with open arms. She was a person of great faith in the Lord.

Betty is survived by her children Jenny Gibbs of Sebring, FL, Rocky Gibbs, Kathy Gibbs and Mark Gibbs all of Ashland and Myra Gibbs of Flatwoods, KY; grandchildren Joe David Conley, Danielle Jean Walkup, Donnie Kinnan, Crystal Kinnan, Lauren Burgess, Jancey Daniels Keaton, Cheromi Daniels, Shalyn Daniels and Tyler Gibbs; Great grandchildren Julianna, Jay, Dylan, Asher, Adeline, Ryder, Reagan, Remington, Jenna, Landon, Zoe, Eden, Liam and Griff.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens and will be officiated by Chaplain Jimm Smedley. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
