Betty Huff peacefully entered her eternal home Tuesday, November 19, 2019, ending her struggle with dementia.
She was born July 18, 1929, to the late Madge Moore Hester and Drew Hester.
Additionally, Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert "Bob" Huff in 1984. A large and close knit family, five brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death; Etley Hester, Henry Hester, Frank Hester, Ralph Hester, Bill Hester, Overta Faye Hester (infant sister) and Carolyn “Sue” Frazier.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who adored her only son. She lovingly bragged on her three precious granddaughters every opportunity she had. In her earlier years, Betty worked at General Telephone as a telephone operator which was a well suited career. Her family affectionately teased her over her love of the telephone.
Betty was a faithful member of Ross Chapel for most of her adult life. She was also a regular water aerobics participant at the Ashland YMCA, until she was unable to continue.
Betty (Nana) is survived by her son, Rob Huff Jr. (Cara) and three precious granddaughters - Annie Huff, Abby Huff, and Mary 'Clare' Huff of Ashland.
Also surviving are two brothers, Drew Hester, Jr. of Russell and Franklin Del Hester (Billie) of Lewisville, TX; two sisters, Bernice Dobson (Don) of Ashland and Linda Green (Bob) of Rush.
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 23, 2019 from 11am-1pm at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a local charity or Boyd County Animal Shelter.
