Betty Mae Shockey Lovin

Betty Mae Shockey Lovin, 84, of Ashland, KY gained her wings on January 1, 2020. She was born in McRoberts, KY on October 23, 1935 to the late Oliver Wendell and Lake Erie Blair Shockey. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years Dr. William Lovin, brothers William Raymond Shockey and Oliver Wendell Shockey, Jr., sisters Mattie Louise Shockey Points and Doris Jean Shockey Elliott and her grandson Adam Lovin.

Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and homemaker. She brought love and joy to every life she touched.

She is survived by her three children William Scott Lovin, Stacy Leigh Lovin Stevens and Jeffrey Stuart Lovin; grandchildren Michael Lovin , Kayla Stevens (Mason Eastham), Douglas Kevin Stevens II (Drew Acree) Elijah and Caleb Lovin; great-grandchildren Ronin and Axel Lovin; and her sister Margaret Ann (John Mason) Sturgill. She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. The family appreciates all of your thoughts and prayers.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 7th at 11:00 AM at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel and will be officiated by Chaplain Jimm Smedley. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday evening January 6th from 6:00-8:00 PM.
