Bonnie Kay Broughton

Bonnie Kay Broughton, 71 of Ashland, KY, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 16, 2021.

Bonnie was born February 11, 1950 in Floyd Co, KY, to the late Tom and Doris Ann Patrick. Bonnie was the widow to her beloved husband, Bill Broughton. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and husband, was a sister, Jenny Crace; grandson, Jason Broughton II; and In-laws, Russell and Billie Jo Broughton.

Bonnie retired from Diversicare Nursing and enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Bonnie was a member of Kenwood Baptist Church, and before falling ill, was an active volunteer in local nursing homes. Bonnie’s greatest joy in life were her children and grandkids.

Left behind to cherish her memories is her granddaughter, caretaker and best friend, Jessica (Charles) Caudill with whom she lived.

She will be lovingly missed by her children, Patricia Blankenship, Anna Boyd, Tommy (Robin) Broughton, Jason Broughton; grandchildren, Shelby Johnson, Larisa Blankenship, Jennifer Blankenship, Dalton Broughton, Charlee Jo Broughton, Bailey Broughton, and Carter Broughton; great grandchildren, Andrew Burkhart and Molly Caudill, Jacob Johnson and Becca Jo Johnson; great- great grandson, Carson Burkhart and grand-doodles Hero and Miss. Honey; siblings, Joe (Jean Ann) Patrick, Buddy (Penny) Patrick, David (Ruby) Patrick, Bill (Dolly) Patrick, Anna (Bruce) Hampton, Irma (Kenny) Evans, Dottie Young, Sally Patrick, and a host of other family and friends who loved her dearly.

In lieu of flowers, her family ask you make donations to Boyd County little league, something Bonnie and her late husband were extremely involved in over many years.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 19, 2021, at Dixon Cemetery with words of comfort provided by Jim Daniels.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at STEEN FUNERAL HOME 13TH STREET CHAPEL.
