Bonnie F. Hays

Bonnie F. Hays, 72, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at her residence. Bonnie was born May 22, 1945 in Wytheville, Virginia, a daughter of the late James Andy and Alice Rose. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Roy M. Hays, Sr. in 1979, son Rodney M. Hays in 2012, brothers James P. Johnson and George Rose and her sisters Shirley Gravley and Jane Bassetti. Bonnie has been a resident of the Ashland area since 1983. She was very active with the Army ROTC program at Paul Blazer High School during her children’s high school years. She retired from the housekeeping department of Kings Daughters Medical Center after many years of service. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and close friends. Survivors include her children Roy M. Hays, Jr. and wife Linda of Rush, Rex Hays of Ashland, Randy Hays of Plain City, OH, Becky Hays and husband Rolo of Rush, Malene Collins and husband Danny of Elizabethtown, KY, 11 grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel by Pastor Danny Pancake.
