Bonnie G. Kemper Imes, 81, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Kings Daughters Medical Center. Bonnie was born August 18, 1938 in Ashland, one of eleven children born to the late Lendon and Nora Francis Galliher Kemper. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Armond Russell “Buddy” Imes, Jr., brothers James Robert Kemper, Lendon Cecil Kemper and a sister Maxine Kemper O’Brien.
Bonnie was a charter member of Thirteenth Street Baptist Church. She was active in PTA at Condit Elementary and with the Band Boosters at Boyd County High School. Bonnie was a Bank Teller with Home Federal Savings and Loan for many years and retired from banking with Third National Bank.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons David Richard Imes and wife Susannah of Ashland, Daniel Alan Imes and wife Jill of Flatwoods, Dwayne Edward Imes and wife Kara of Lexington, grandchildren Emma Grace Imes, Nora Alyse Imes, Jeffrey Dwayne Imes, Austin Patel, PV-2 Ethan Patel, Angelina Patel, sisters Willadean Wheatherly, Janet Collean Walker, Shirley Ruth Wellman, Peggy Elaine Kemper, Rita Rae Wilson, Carolyn Jill Whitt, brothers Donald Ellard Kemper, Jack Darrell Kemper and several nieces, nephews, numerous in-laws, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Thirteenth Street Baptist Church by Pastor Jim Byrd. Burial will follow in the Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the church from 12:00 Noon till service time at 2:00.
