Carolyn A. Lafferty, 76, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Carolyn was born June 25, 1943 in West Van Lear, KY, a daughter of the late Samuel Sr., and Marie Hayburn Watkins. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Chester Lafferty in 1999.
Carolyn was a member of Lifesong Church in Ashland. Her late husband Chester was a Methodist minister and they ministered together in the Lindsey area as well as the Pactolus and Gobel communities. She retired as a sales associate from Rite-Aid in Ashland after many years of service. Her greatest passion was being a homemaker to her family. She will always be remembered as a loving wife and a wonderful mother and grandmother.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Karen Qualls and husband Delmar, Jr. of Ashland, Cheryl Moore and husband Ron of Rush, Jami Fork and husband Michael, Jr. of Chesterfield, MI, brothers, Samuel (Beth) Watkins, Jr. of Gibsonville, NC, Donald (Debbie) Watkins of Inez, KY, her grandchildren and great grandchildren she adored, Scott (Paula) Qualls, Staci (Robert) Green, Alex (Allie) Conn, Justin (Tiffany) Conn, Stephanie Moore, Katie Fork, Michael Fork, III, Abby Fork, Braxton, Shaylee, Bailey, Rylee, Jaylee, Kaylee, Emma, Matthew, Mason and a host of extended family and friends,
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel by Pastor Keith Menshouse. Burial will be in the Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation for friends and family will be Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
