Carson Elwood Hay, 89, of Ashland, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2019 at the Community Hospice Care Center.
He was born September 25, 1930, in Martha, Kentucky, a son of the late Martin and Georgia Fannin Hay. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Graden and Adrian Hay; sisters, Leola Evans, Clotine Blankenship, Ann Blackford and Reda Wright.
Carson attended Summit Missionary Baptist Church. He served honorably in the U.S. Army and was the proprietor of Carson Associates.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Dorsa Fannin “Dottie” Hay of Ashland; son, Monte Hay of Ashland; daughters, Marta (Greg) Felty of Cincinnati, OH, and Marla (Matthew) Glancy of Fleming, OH; brothers, Gerland Hay of Columbus, OH, and John F. Hay of Louisa, KY; sisters, Glenora Hilton of Michigan, Anges Ross of Pickering, OH and Carol Barker of Louisa, KY; grandchildren, Joshua Glancy, Nick Felty, Rebecca Mollette, Shannon Glancy Seaton Hay, Monica Sturgill; 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2019, at Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel with Pastor Kevin Meenach officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum where military honors will be provided by the U. S. Army and American Legion.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Carson’s memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 2212 Carter Ave, Ashland, KY 41101; or to Community Hospice, 1480 Carter Avenue, Ashland, KY, 41101.
