Clara Mae Greene, 89, of Ashland, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018, with her loving family at her side.
She was born Aug. 23, 1929 in Catlettsburg, Ky., a daughter of the late Lawrence Ray Copley and Leona Sprouse Copley Braumiller. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John G. Greene, Sr. in 1989; son, John G. Greene, Jr. in 2004; and step siblings, James A. Salyers and Jackie Colliver.
Clara Mae was a lifelong member of Twin Fork Church of the Nazarene, where she taught the teenagers Sunday School Class and was instrumental with Bible School since its induction in 1955. She and her husband were very active in Radio ministry; and she was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
Survivors include sons, William E. Greene, Sr.; Paul B. (Tammy) Greene, and Lawrence A. Greene; daughter, Guynell N. (Tim) Conley; step siblings, Ray H. Salyers and Lila Wiley; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at Twin Fork Church of the Nazarene with Rev. James D. Muncy officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel.
