Curtlyn Charlene Kramer, 28, of Sommerville, Massachusetts, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022, at her residence. She was born February 2, 1994, in Lexington, KY, the daughter of Curtis C. Kramer and Betty K. Rice-Kramer of Mt. Sterling, KY.
Curtlyn attended Paul G. Blazer High School in Ashland, Kentucky, and the Gatton Academy for Math and Science on the campus of Western Kentucky University. She received her undergraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Texas at Dallas, in Richardson, Texas. After graduation, she moved to Washington, DC to work at The Brookings Institution as a Research Analyst, and then moved to Sommerville, Massachusetts to attend Harvard University where she recently earned a master’s degree in Government and Social Policy. Her career goal was to teach at a university. She was a devout vegetarian, she championed recycling, preservation of natural resources, efforts towards reducing energy consumption, promoted sustainability efforts and efforts to reduce our carbon footprint. She had been volunteering with the Massachusetts Humane Society as a foster for stray cats, often spending weeks nursing them back to health so they could be adopted into a forever home.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother, Clifton L. Adams of Mt. Sterling, KY.
Private funeral services will be held at STEEN FUNERAL HOME-13th STREET CHAPEL, 3409 13TH STREET ASHLAND, KY. 41102 with Chaplain Jimm Smedley officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.
