Danny L. Bocook, 70, of Ashland, passed away on December 13, 2018 at the Hospice Care Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on July 8, 1948 in Catlettsburg, KY to the late Edward and Ruth Chaffin Bocook. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Joe, Jim and Edward Bocook.
He was retired from Ashland Oil where he was a construction worker and served proudly in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was the honorary Grand Marshal for The Vietnam Traveling Memorial Wall and was also a member of Moore Street Tabernacle. His passions included working on cars and clocks, helping others and spending time with his precious family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Judy Miller Bocook, sons Joe Bocook (Sarah) of Hurricane, WV, and Charles Brown of Ashland, KY; daughters Dee Dee Orndorff (Lee) and Ladonna Larue (Larry) both of Ashland, KY; brothers Bill Bocook (Pat), Jack Bocook (Marlene), Alan Bocook (Sandra), David Bocook, John Bocook (Rene), and Charles Bocook (Pam); sisters Lalona Eaken, Mary Hutchison (Steve), Donna Hannah (Tom) and Lou Ann Justice; grandchildren Matt, Madison, Delaney, Katie, Josh, Lexy, Jessie, Paxton, Ryan and Michael; great grandchildren Jenna, Ella, Emma Andrew, Laurie, and Logan; and a special “little man” Abraham.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 17th at Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel at 1:00 PM and will be officiated by Reverend Danny Pancake. Burial will follow in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery, N.E. where military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy and American Legion Post 93.
Visitation will be on Sunday evening December 16th at the funeral home from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
