Dawn Colley

Dawn Carolyn Colley, 61, of Greenup, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital. Dawn was born Feb. 10, 1957 in Ashland, KY, a daughter of Bonita Jacobs Colley Davis of Ashland and the late George “Chub” Colley.
In addition to her father, Dawn was preceded in death by her grandparents Dorothy Whitehurst and Elmer Jacobs, uncles Richard “Dick” Jacobs, William “Bill” Jacobs, James “Toge” Jacobs, Wayne Jacobs, her cousin Faith Sperry and the love of her life Mark Whitt.
Dawn was a graduate of Fairview High School. She was employed as a Control Lab Technician at the Catlettsburg Refinery and on the day she passed away had just finished her 27th year of service.
Dawn was a wonderful person. She was admired by her many former dance students and her co-workers at the Catlettsburg Refinery. She had a deep love of animals especially her horses.
In addition to her mother Bonita, she is also survived by her Aunt Jenny Jacobs of Ashland, Cousins Hope (Bud) Lemaster of Ashland, William J. (Jennifer) Jacobs of Florida, Randy (Sherry) Jacobs of Ashland, Mindy (Tom) Hanshaw of Ashland, David (Hannah) Jacobs of Ashland, Mary Ann Jacobs of Ashland, Wendi (Bryan) Ellis of Edmond, Ok, Angel (David) Matney of Ironton, Jason (Kymm) Jacobs of Ashland, Debbie (Jim) Brown of Ashland and a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 8:00pm Monday evening at the Steen Funeral Home 13th St. Chapel by Pastor James Webster.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Monday evening prior to the service.
Burial will be held 11:00am Tuesday at the Ashland Cemetery.
