Deborah Lynn True, 70, of Flatwoods, Ky., passed away on Monday, November 16, 2020.
She was born in Ashland, Ky., on April 16, 1950, to the late Delmar Glen and Betty Thompson Sturgill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Earl True (2019) and brother, Glen Randall Sturgill.
Deborah was a business owner of D. E. True Industrial Services and worked as a Cytotechnology Laboratory Supervisor at King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was a graduate of Ohio State University and Fairview High School. She attended First Baptist Church of Russell. Deborah loved her family and was known as “Hunny” by her six grandchildren. She was a caregiver to family, known for her willingness to serve others, and loved to give gifts.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Andrew David (Erin) True of Seabrook, Texas; a daughter, Dr. Abbe (Phillip) Cassity of Russell, Ky; a sister, Judy (Randy) Scaggs of Westwood, Ky; a sister in law, Jo Sturgill of Ashland; grandchildren, Gabrielle (Luke) Cassity-Bailey, Gunner Cassity and Dean, Keenan, Aubrey and Brynn True.
Funeral services will be available for viewing online at www.steenfuneralhome.com on Friday, November 20, 2020 from Steen Funeral Home-13th Street Chapel and will be officiated by Pastor Ken Gowin. Burial will be in Ashland Cemetery.
