Dennis James Hutchinson

Dennis James Hutchinson, 61, of Westwood, passed away Tuesday evening, January 17, 2023 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Dennis was born March 22, 1961 in Lancaster, Ohio. He is the son of the late J.R. and Marie Gibbs Hutchinson. In addition to his parents, a daughter Kelly Lewis, brothers Johnny and Jerry Hutchinson and a sister Joyce Hartsock preceded him in death.

Dennis was a graduate of Fairview High School class of 1979 and attended vocational school after graduation. He was enrolled in the R.O.T.C. program at Fairview and later served with the Army National Guard. Dennis helped his brother with his Bait Shop business in Mims, FL, for many years, a job he truly loved to do. Other occupations led Dennis to become a master finisher in the construction industry.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Dennis Hutchinson, Jr of Mims, FL, a daughter Annette Hutchinson also of Mims, FL, Sonya Stevens whom he considered a daughter of Ashland, brother Jackie (Tina) Hutchinson of Ashland, sisters Judy (Rick) Porter of West Virginia, Janie (Stanley) Jenkins of Ironville, grandchildren Reana Simpson, Carson Lee Simpson, Briar Lewis, Diana Bullard, his furry K-9 companion Cocoa and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

A memorial service is planned for a later date. Steen Funeral Home has been entrusted with services.
