Dolliver David Davis, 80, of Lexington, formerly of Boyd County, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Davis was born June 29, 1940 in Rush, KY, a son of the late Garrett D. Davis and Lottie Pennington Davis Clark. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Logan Davis and a sister Anna Jean Burton.
David retired form CSX as a conductor on the Big Sandy Division. He was a former member of the El Hasa Shrine and a former mason of the Greenhill Masonic Lodge #571 in Cannonsburg. He loved bluegrass music and traveling. He enjoyed wintering in Florida with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 59 years Judy Shrewsbury Davis of Lexington, sons David Lee Davis and wife Tracey of Newborn, GA, Gary Davis and wife Kristi of Greenup, daughter Susan Friley and husband Tom Of Lexington, brother John (Anna) Davis of Catlettsburg, sister Irene Stepp of Catlettsburg, grandchildren Taylor (James) Cornell, Zane Hawk Friley, Lauryn (Clint) Meadows, McKay Friley, Cole Davis, great grandchildren Knox Meadows, Skylar Meadows, brother-in-law Tom Burton of Ashland, his K-9 companion Candee and a host of extended family and good friends.
A graveside service will be held 2:00pm Saturday, July 25, 2020 at the Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland. Tom Stephens will officiate. There will be no visitation.
We ask that everyone attending please wear a mask and practice social distancing in accordance to COVID 19 guidelines.
