Donald Beecher Stapleton Jr. passed away at his home in Ashland, Kentucky on May 29, 2019 at the age of 63. He was born in Ashland on November 24, 1955, the son of the late Donald Beecher Stapleton Sr. and Rebecca Geneva Jacobs Stapleton. He is survived by a sister, Donna Goodpaster and her husband, Ross, of Gonzales, Louisiana. He is also survived by nieces Rhoda Rebecca Goodpaster and Scarlett Jane Stapleton II and a nephew Fred Grant Stapleton. He was preceded in death by his brother Fred Grant Stapleton, and his sister Scarlett Jane Stapleton.
Beecher was a kind-hearted and loving son, brother, uncle, and friend of many, who had a great sense of humor. He worked as an auto mechanic for several years, then moved to Virginia to worked in the family auto parts business. He then spent a couple of decades on a small Virginia farm breeding, training and showing Arabian horses. Beecher donated his bone marrow to his sister Donna, who has been disease free for the last twenty years. He also worked as a machinist at a parts manufacturing plant, and as a clerk at a convenience store. Beecher returned to Ashland to help his mom, and worked at ACTC in floor care. Beecher played Little League and Babe Ruth baseball and high school football. He was a lifelong sports fan and never missed a minute of Kentucky basketball and football.
Graveside services will be held at the Ashland Cemetery mausoleum chapel on Monday, June 3, 2019 at 2 pm. Visitation will be at the mausoleum chapel from 1:30 pm to 2 pm prior to the service.
