Doris Jean Greening Moore, 90, of Ashland, died peacefully Friday, May 6, 2022, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
Doris was born August 9, 1931, in Catlettsburg, Kentucky, to the late Wilma and Horace L. Greening, Sr. In addition to her parents, her husbands, Bill Massie and Gordon W. Moore; granddaughter, Kelli Norfleet; brother, Sam L. Greening; and sisters, Sue Tutwiler and Mary Ann Greening preceded her in death.
Doris was a longtime member of Centenary United Methodist Church. Doris was a homemaker most of her life. She worked at Earndhart Lincoln Mercury and Moore Motor Company for a few years.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Debra Massie and Candy (Gary) Mastin of Ashland; two sons, Gordon Moore, Jr. of Lexington and Gregory Scott Moore of Ashland; brother, Horace L. “Jocko” (Debbie) Greening, Jr. of Marietta, GA; sisters, Helen Dixon of Ashland and Angie (Jeff) Slone of Rush; grandchildren, Amanda Mastin, Kristin Kaul, Jordan Moore, and Taylor Moore; three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A service to celebrate Doris’s life will begin at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at STEEN FUNERAL HOME 13TH STREET CHAPEL with Pastor John Carwell officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
