Dorothy Diamond Slone, 87, of Ashland passed away Thursday, May 14, 2020 surrounded by family at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY.
Dottie was born October 30, 1932 in Ashland, KY, a daughter of the late Rev. E Paul and Ethel Virginia Pickrell Diamond. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Wade E. Slone, sons Paul Andrew Slone and Phillip Bryan Slone, her sister Pauline D. Applegate and infant brother who died at birth.
Dottie was a devoted mother and grandmother who cherished times with her family. She loved watching her grandchildren at their sporting events and she was always their biggest fan. She never missed an opportunity to have family around the table for a big dinner, a game of Phase 10, or to just have a conversation about family history.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Rebecca Lynn "Becky" Slone of Pickerington, OH, son David Allen Slone and wife Jamie of Ashland, daughter-in-law Libby Slone of Ashland. Grandchildren Angela Felty, Bryan (April) Slone, Justin Slone, Samantha (Danny) Childers, Dallas (Cody) Franklin, Jared (Fiancé Ashley Colwell) Slone, Andreah (Jacob) Williams, Emma Slone, Katelyn Virgin. Great grandchildren Kailyn, Rachael, Tripp, Harper, Tinley, Natalie, Delaney, Paisley, Noah, a baby on the way, and a host of nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a private graveside service will be held Sunday, May 17th, 2020 at the Ashland Cemetery with words of comfort from Rev. Frank Hulett.
