Dorothy M. Sparks

Dorothy Mae Sparks, 93, formerly of Ashland, KY, passed away at Kindred Hospital in Tomball, Texas after an extended illness on Thursday, April 13, 2017. Dorothy was born on December 20, 1923 in Ashland, KY to the late Edgar and Nancy Moyer McClelland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 54 years, Bernard Sparks in 1998, brother’s Thomas, Donald, Harold and Clyde and sisters, Nancy, Mildred and Mary. Survivors include a son, Daniel L Sparks ( Janet) of Cypress, TX, her grandchildren, Daniel L. Sparks, II (Sherry) of Magnolia, TX , Pamela Kuhn (Mike) of Cypress, TX, 5 great granddaughters Victoria Taylor (Craig) of Spring, TX, Lillian Sparks of Magnolia, TX, Addison, Emily and Carys Kuhn all of Cypress, TX. Additional survivors include brothers, Curtis McClelland of Catlettsburg, KY and Jack McClelland of Ashland and sisters Margaret Morgan of Rock Camp, OH and Martha Edwards of Ashland and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11:00am Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Burial Park.
