Dorothy Jane Walker

Dorothy Jane Walker, 96, of Ashland, passed away at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center on January 4, 2020. She was born on October 25, 1923 in Cannellton, WV to the late James and Hattie Totten Lowe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John W. Walker in March of 2019, and siblings Thomas Lowe, Virginia Benson, James Lowe, Juanita Jones, Alma Lucas, June Moore, Frank Lowe and her great granddaughter Megan Elizabeth Johnson.
She was a homemaker and a member of Central Baptist Church. Her life was her family and her church.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters Beverly Johnson and husband Tom of Sumter, SC and Pamela Poskitt and husband Tom of Ashland, KY; grandchildren Jennifer Franklin, Jane Blankenship (Bob), Laura Franklin, Wesley Thompson (Melanie) and Christopher Johnson; great grandchildren Nicholas Blankenship, Brandon Franklin, Eric Franklin, Andrew Franklin, Maya Blankenship, Madelynn Thompson, Eli Johnson, Rebecca Franklin, Adam Franklin and Avery Thompson.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 8th at Steen Funeral Home-Central Avenue Chapel at 1:00 PM and will be officiated by Pastor Joed Rice. Entombment will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00 AM until service time at 1:00 PM
