Ellen Bradley, 92, of Ashland, peacefully passed away Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland surrounded by her loving family. Ellen was born March 27, 1926 in Greenup, KY a daughter of the late Samuel Boyles and Louise Halley Boyles (Lonnie) Elswick. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Willie E. Bradley in 1983 her son-in-law Walter J. Beam, Jr. and a granddaughter.
Ellen was raised in Greenup County and attended the one room school house at Clay Lick. She and her late husband Willie were married in July of 1943. One of her fondest memories was talking about her trip by train to California for a visit with her husband Willie while he was serving in the Navy. She loved to garden, plant flowers and volunteered her time with Meals on Wheels.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons Dallas Bradley and wife Arlene of Richmond, KY, Gary Bradley and wife Pam of Troy, OH, daughter Carolyn Beam of Ashland, 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, March 3, 2019 at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel by Raymond Stephens. Burial will be in the Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon till service time Sunday at the funeral home.
