Kathleen "Kay" Houck Bailey

Elva Kathleen "Kay" Bailey, 89, of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, in Community Hospice Care Center.
She was born Dec. 26, 1927, in Athens, Ohio, a daughter of the late John Henry and Easter Goldie Darnell Houck.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Samuel S. Bailey; a son, Sam D. Bailey; one brother; and five sisters.
Kay was a member of Rose Hill Baptist Church and was a devoted homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Terry R. Bailey and wife Michelle of Lawrenceburg; a sister, Evelyn "Bill" Wheeler of Ashland; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum with Pastor Matt Shamblin officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rose Hill Baptist Church.
