Ernest Graydon Walters, Jr. 69, of Flatwoods, went home to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, June 12, 2020.
He was born October 20, 1950, in Ashland, KY, a son of the late Ernest Graydon Walters, Sr. and Margaret Cordle Walters.
Ernie retired as manager of the hardware department at Walmart. He was a Christian who loved the Lord and enjoyed his daily Bible study. He was an avid gardener who loved antiquing, working in his apple orchard and watching the UK Wildcats and Boston Celtics.
Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Tammi Greene Walters of Flatwoods; brother, Gary (Pat) Walters; sister, Rosemary (Johnny) McIntyre; mother in law, Nellie Greene (Denny) Crisp whom he loved with all of his heart; best friend, Tubs; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends that he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at STEEN FUNERAL HOME 13TH STREET CHAPEL with Pastor Robert Jordan and Pastor Christopher Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The School of Hope c/o 111 Burns Street, Fayetteville, NC, 28301, a school dedicated to helping children with Autism. Ernie gave so much Hope to so many people that his memory will continue to live on in the lives of children and bring hope to others.
