Florence Rice Back

Florence Rice Back, 95, of Ashland, went home to be with the Lord at her residence on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.

She was born July 6, 1926, in Boyd County, Kentucky, to the late Fred and Kathrine Owens Rice. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Vernon Robert Back; son, Keith Back; son-in-law, Ronald Damron; and all of her siblings; Doug, Junior, Bobby, Smith, Minnie, Leona, Pauline, Juanita, and Mary.

Florence was the oldest member of Moore Street Tabernacle and was a devoted homemaker.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Patricia (Robert) Williams, Twila (Ron) Patterson, Kathy Damron, and Ronald Dean Back; daughter–in-law, Pam Back; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchild.

A celebration of Florence’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2021, at STEEN FUNERAL HOME CENTRAL AVENUE CHAPEL with words of comfort provided by Pastor Danny Pancake. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home.
