Ginna Faye Battise, 48, of Ashland, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 20, 2020.
She was born May 3, 1971, in Lexington, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Don Battise and Alene Tolbert Battise. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Lonnie Maurice Tolbert.
Ginna was a graduate of Ironton High School’s class of 1989 and was a member of Christ Temple Church in Ashland, Kentucky. She worked part time at Common Pleas Court in Ironton, Ohio and volunteered at Crabbe Elementary School along with other community service. She was a loving and devoted homemaker and will be missed by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include a son, Gabriel Battise of Ashland; a nephew whom she raised, Uriah Tolbert of Ashland, along with a niece, Kayla Bennett of South Point, OH, and a nephew, Mario Tolbert of Ironton, OH. Other survivors include a sister, Debra Deer of Ashland; brother, Don Battise and wife, Amy of Ironton, and their son, Derek Battise (nephew); and a host of great nieces and great nephews.
A home going celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, January 27, 2020 at Christ Temple Church with Pastor Elder J.D. Crockrel and Elder Uriah Tolbert officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from Noon. until 1 p.m. Monday, at the church.
