Glenn W. Morgan, 85, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland. Mr. Morgan was born January 10, 1936 in Cincinnati, OH, a son of the late William and Catherine Engel Morgan. In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years Roma Jean Stewart Morgan and his brother Arthur Morgan.
Mr. Morgan was a graduate of Western Hills High School and attended the University of Cincinnati. He was a very active member of Unity Baptist Church in Ashland. He served as Church Deacon and in many other church activities including many trips to the Holy Land in Israel. He was a football referee and softball umpire for many years and loved watching his grandson Chad playing baseball. One of his passions was making Bluebird boxes with a group of friends trying to re-populate the Eastern bluebirds back to Kentucky and the surrounding tri-state area.
Glenn retired from Armco Steel in the metallurgical department after 35 years of service.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters Sandra Hieneman of Ashland and Laurie Palma of Ashland. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Chad (Kourtney) Hieneman and Morgan Palma, great granddaughter Emma Kate Hieneman, dear friends June McCann Thompson, Charlie and Mei Mei Bond, Gene Ray, Phillip Barber and a host of extended family and good friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the Unity Baptist Church in Ashland by Pastor Paul Badgett. Burial will be in the Ashland Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Monday evening, June 28, 2021 at the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel.
