Gloria Mae Mundy Nash, 84, of Huntington, West Virginia, died peacefully at her residence on Sunday, March 21, 2021.
Gloria was born November 21, 1936 in Pikeville, Kentucky a daughter of the late Wilby D. Mundy, Sr. and Geraldine Bartram Mundy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Norris Gene Nash, Sr. on February 17, 2021; a grandson, Norris Nash, III on March 3, 2021; two brothers, Wilby D. Mundy, Jr. and Raymond L. Mundy; and two sisters, Helen Fish Williams and Esther L. Graham.
Gloria was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Kentucky State University where she was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and Marshall University. She retired as General Manager following a 33-year career with WPBY Public Broadcasting. Gloria was a longtime member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church where she served as Treasurer. She was a sports enthusiast and avid fan of the Marshall Thundering Herd.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Robin Nash of Huntington; son, Norris Nash, Jr. and wife, Barbara of Ft. Worth, TX; two sisters, Ann Fox of New Castle, Ind., and Bernice Henry of Ashland, KY; two grandchildren, La’Shana Nash and Eddie “Bear” Thomas; and six great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
A private graveside service will be held at Ashland Cemetery.
