Gloria Jean Smith

Gloria Jean Runyons Smith, 66, of Ashland, KY passed away on November 17, 2021 at the Hospice Care Center. She was born in Ironton, OH on January 26, 1955 to the late Charles Edward and Helen Skaggs Adkins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother James Rodney Runyons.
She was a commercial insurance agent and worked for Accordia Insurance. Gloria had a great love for music and was a singer/performer having made recordings at 9 Lives Record and 2 Cat Studios, singing in the choir of Salt and Light Church as well as Cliffside Worship where she was a member. She was also a writer of poetry.
Gloria is survived by her loving husband Richard Smith of Ashland, KY and a son William Charles Smith of Lexington, KY.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at STEEN FUNERAL HOME-13th STREET CHAPEL at 2:00 PM and will be officiated by Pastor Dwayne Young. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 PM.
