Greg Short

Gregory Marlon Short, 61, of Ironton, OH, formerly of Flatwoods, KY, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland after an extended illness. Greg was born May 13, 1958 at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, KY, a son of the late Gary Edward, Sr. and Phyllis Jean Keeton Short. In addition to his parents, Greg was also preceded in death by his longtime companion Linda Stewart
Greg was a 1976 graduate of Russell High School. He attended the Chesapeake Church of the Nazarene in Chesapeake, OH. Greg worked in the Automotive Parts Industry his entire working life. He has worked for several area Auto Parts stores including Advance Auto Parts in Ashland as well as the former Nationwise Auto Parts stores in both Ashland and Ironton. His knowledge of the business was impeccable.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Elijah Stewart of Ironton, brother Gary E. “Bub” Short, Jr. and wife Edna of Ashland, KY, sisters Melissa Harmon and husband Rodney of Ironton, OH, Regina Ferris and husband Randy of Proctorville, OH, and a host of extended family and good friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Due to the ongoing COVID -19 Pandemic, no public services will be held at this time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel.
